Killing Creativity

killing Creativity4Someone at WordPress must have read my blog yesterday, because today’s Daily Prompt asks people how they would design a new school.  Yesterday I wrote that if I won a billion dollars I would restructure an American educational system that has gone terribly astray.  I’ll pretend that isn’t just a coincidence, and take it as a huge compliment.

The most important thing that I would include in my schools would be Creativity.  Everything else springs from there.  I could write five thousand pages about what has gone wrong with our schools (starting with legislators running them) but I have decided to give you, my dear readers, a break.  I will let Sir Ken Robinson entertain and enlighten you.

And since a picture says a thousand words, here are a few pictures for you…

  9. Beautifully said…and a successful depiction of creativity in the way you brought it all together with title, choice of images, and TED’s video clip…one of my favorite by the way – Thank you for sharing 🙂

  11. I get the weekly updates from TED, and browse through them at leisure on Saturday mornings; and never a one goes by without my finding something of real interest. Like your modesty re your post/TDP. [grin]

  12. Hear hear fellow Hitchhiker! The U.S. needs more passionate educators like Sir Robinson who can inject much-needed creativity, curiosity and courage into our rapidly deteriorating educational system.
