That’s me, the one on the left, getting up and close and personal with an alpaca. They are such wonderfully curious and friendly animals. I love them.
That’s also the best picture of me that you’ll find. Unlike my siblings, I did not inherit a photogenic gene. I’m one of those people who see a camera and retreat inside of myself, so I end up looking wooden and old. It’s not attractive, but there you have it. I probably still harbor deep down inside an old belief from a previous life a that the magic box will steal my soul. People who deal with me sans cameras seem to find me entertaining and pleasant enough to look at.
If you gave me the choice to be anyone in the world, I’d want to be me. I’ve had grand adventures and have learned so much from this lifetime. I’m happy with who I’ve become. Proud, even. I can’t wait to see where this journey is taking me, to see the rest of the person I’ve evolving into.
Over the last year so much more of this world has opened up to me. I finished my first year of Qigong teacher’s training. I’ve explored Chinese Medicine and Taoist beliefs, and studied a little Mandarin. Such a different language, and so beautiful. It’s making me think about communication in entirely new ways, in visual ways, in symbols.
A recent trip to an antique store sparked my blogging and is taking it to new places. I’m having a blast with that.
I married the love of my life, my partner of twenty-five years. Every day I fall more in love with her.
I’m content and peaceful, but still open to change. That might be seem a dichotomy to some, but it isn’t in me. 2014 will be a year of continued expansion, exploration, and eureka moments.
I feel like I’m living a magical, charmed life. Yes, life is good. Life is fun.
