OK, Club Introvert members, now it’s time for you to get social again. Quite a few of you participated in last week’s social event, but a few of you said you’d have to think about it. I thought we’d try it again, just for the fun of it.
As with any good social event, you need an ice-breaker, a little game that allows you to meet someone new. Don’t you just hate those? Yes? Well, this one will be fun.
Here’s what you do:
1. Create a blog posting with your answers to Cee’s Share Your World challenge. (See below for more info about SYW.)
2. Go out to SYW and create a comment that starts with “Club Introvert member” and add a link to your blog.
3. While on SYW, find three CI members who you don’t know yet. (Yes, you might have to go back later. I’ll remind you.)
4. Go home and breathe a sigh of relief.
Now I realize that you might have been too nervous about all of this to pay attention, so I’ll recap. You’re going to a small, quiet party. You’ll introduce yourself to three new people. You’ll go home and be proud of yourself for being so adventurous. Well done!
Share Your World info and link: Share Your World is a weekly challenge hosted by my spouse, Cee, at her photography blog. She started Share Your World years ago when she was running a number of challenges on a photography site similar to WordPress. The majority of photographers are introverts, and they needed a way to get to know each other. You don’t have to be a photographer to participate, though. Grab the questions and give us your answers.
Here are the questions for this week:
If you were an ice cream cone how many scoops and flavors would you be and why?
I can’t believe I chose this silly question. Cee like me pick the questions for the next couple of weeks, and I included this one. What was I thinking? I must have checked the wrong box.
I like a simple soft serve cone best, the kind where you swirl vanilla and chocolate around and put a curl on the top. Visions of my childhood.
Are you left or right handed?
Depends. I write right-handed but mouse left-handed.
Before making a phone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say?
How many rings before you answer the phone?
All of them. It’s very unusual for me to answer the phone. I don’t like talking on the phone, especially when I don’t know who is calling and the purpose for the call. Sometimes, though, I love to annoy people who are calling me to try to sell me something. It can be fun messing with their minds. Telephone sales, not a profession I would ever want to try.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Time away from my day job. It’s nice having an extra day off. I had a day off last week and I’m starting this week with another day off. Cee and I took off and went to a local coffee shop and then just did a little photo shoot for Cee. It’s fun driving around the area looking for good subjects. We went by our local airport and found a plane in pieces and undergoing some restoration work. I’ve never seen the inside of a wing before. It was interesting. We usually have fun discovering all kinds of odd stuff when we set out to do Cee’s version of a “drive-by shooting”.
I asked Cee to include the bonus question on SYW because it’s something I do with my grief groups every week. It’s a good way to put your life into perspective. Now matter how isolated you might feel, there is always some little thing you can find to be grateful for, and it’s always good to focus on the things you’re looking forward to in the next week. As adults, we can get so caught up in life that we forget to stop, enjoy and feel the thrill of happy anticipation.
Thank You to all the Club Introvert members who participated last week:
