Sharing My World – Week 26

Here is my contribution to Share Your World for this week.  (Scroll to the bottom for more info on SYW.)

Is your refrigerator, organized or a mess inside?

Does “an organized mess” count?

If you could be famous for one thing, what would it be?

A ton of things zipped through my head when I read this, including the proverbial world peace.  If I could wave a magic wand, I would create a non-judgmental world where people expressed compassion and lived by that universal “Golden Rule” of doing to others as they would have others do to them.   I’d like to fix the educational system and give young people a positive focus.  I’d like to give scholarships to promising, gifted young women, just to level the playing field a bit more.  I’d like to fix poverty.  Then I’d take on the health care system in America because it is beyond pitiful when honest, hard-working people can’t get relief.  But now I’m veering into the realm of politics, and I don’t want to do that.

So, not being as wealthy as Bill Gates or Warren Buffet, and looking at my life as it is, I would like to be known for always being there when someone needed me.  For being that listening ear, or giving someone a hand up.  That is almost as good as world peace.

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?

Go into space.  I want to see beyond the confines of the earth’s atmosphere.

Where do you eat breakfast?

(shamefaced) At my computer while working or attending a telephone conference.  I know I should be a good qigong student and eat my breakfast alone, at the dining room table, quietly appreciating my food, but I haven’t managed to juggle the demands of my job with what I would like my life to be.  No excuses.  Just hard to break out of those years-long habits.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful that Cee and I took some “us” time on Sunday.  It was great getting away from the house and the dogs and cats.  We always enjoy going to the water gardens.  I came back this time with visions of the water feature I want to add to the back yard next year.  I just have to find the right fountain.  The photograph at the top is a little artwork that I bought for our front yard.  It’s the Japanese character for “Light”, laser cut out of iron.

I’m looking forward to a long weekend over the 4th of July, and getting some more yard work done.  I hope it isn’t going to be too hot outside, but even if it is, I’ll look forward to cool mornings and air conditioning in the late afternoon.

share-your-world2Share Your World info and link:  Share Your World is a weekly challenge hosted by my spouse, Cee, at her photography blog. She started Share Your World years ago when she was running a number of challenges on a photography site similar to WordPress.  The majority of photographers are introverts, and they needed a way to get to know each other.  You don’t have to be a photographer to participate, though.  Grab the questions and give us your answers.

Hi.  I’m Chris.  I’m an introvert.  All of my postings tend to reflect my introvert world in some way or another.  Join me and like minded introverts for a special slant on the world.

  1. I described my freezer the same way: an organized mess. You have more courage than I ever will. Outer space fascinates me, but I don’t think I want to get any closer than watching a launch, photos from NASA, the Space Museum, or old episodes of Star Trek. Dr. Who travels through space and time – I really like that 🙂
