Joy is an open window

CharlieWindowYesterday I introduced Joyful July.  My little joy for today is the joy of an open window.

I love fresh air and sunshine, especially the early morning hours when the world is just coming awake.  The air is moist and clean.  This morning was beautiful.  Warm enough to open the window.  Not too hot, not too cold.  Just perfect.

My cat, Charlie, has the best hearing in the world.  If you open a window, he is right there, savoring the smells, following the calls of the birds, watching the people walking or jogging down the street.  He’s my guard cat, always watching over us.

Charlie is a rescue cat.  He lived six months of his life in a cage, waiting for someone to come along and adopt him.  It was love at first sight for me.  He follows me everywhere, spends half his life in my lap, cuddles up to me at night and wakes me in the morning.  We share the joy of an open window.

I guess today’s little joy is a two-in-one joy, the joy of an open window and the joy of seeing life through Charlie’s eyes.  May your day be filled with little joys.

Blessings!

  1. I, too, enjoy the open window. I get up early (between 4 & 5) and go into the room where our computers are and love the feel of the cool air as I read and enjoy the various posts and emails. Our adopted black cat of 16 years enjoys lying in the sun and smelling what’s going on as well.
