Sharing My World – Week 27

new_firstHere is my contribution to Share Your World for this week.  (Scroll to the bottom for more info on SYW.)

If you were the architect of one existing building, which building would you select?

It would have to be Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece.  I love that it’s organic, seemingly growing out of the land it’s built on, and that a river runs through it.  It’s filled with light and incredible views.

What is one of your favorite quotes?

“Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”  Helen Keller

What color do you feel most comfortable wearing?

Pink, but a deeper, richer pink, not pastel.  A dusty rose is nice, too.

What is something you learned in the last week?

I learned that there is someone inside of me who wants to learn to play the penny whistle (tin whistle).  It came from a WordPress Daily Prompt.  It took me hours, and three iterations before I was able to write a simple post.  In the process I listened to internal voices and found a love of the pennywhistle and a deep desire to play it for other people to cheer them up and get them moving a little.  That goes against everything introverted in me, but I’m excited about it.  My whistle came today and as soon as I finish this blog, I’m going to do my first lesson.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful for being able to go out in my garden and putter around.  I’m loving being out and taking care of all of our new plants.  What am I looking forward to?  Being a kid again and playing my whistle, which is what I’m going to do right NOW!

share-your-world2Share Your World info and link:  Share Your World is a weekly challenge hosted by my spouse, Cee, at her photography blog. She started Share Your World years ago when she was running a number of challenges on a photography site similar to WordPress.  The majority of photographers are introverts, and they needed a way to get to know each other.  You don’t have to be a photographer to participate, though.  Grab the questions and give us your answers.

Hi.  I’m Chris.  I’m an introvert.  All of my postings tend to reflect my introvert world in some way or another.  Join me and like minded introverts for a special slant on the world.

  1. Oh, I forgot about that house, very beautiful example of his work. I love your choice of quote too 🙂

  2. All of your answers are great. I almost bought a house designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright here in Florida. It was filled with angles.
Someone outbid us. I still think about that house. He was a wonderful architect.

  3. Fallingwater is a great answer, as are all the others. I, too, love bluegrass-style music and picked up the banjo (to learn to play it) several years ago because of how cheerful it sounded and I wanted to feel cheerful and make others happy with its infectious enthusiasm. Best wishes for the penny whistle lessons, Chris!
