  1. I absolutely loved this. When I was 11 or so, I adored this song. It played daily and I did (really bad) gymnastics to it. It made me a life-long Beatles fan. Top it off, I grew up in Rochester, NY! This brought tears to my eyes as I realized I’m so much closer to 64 than to 11 now, and perhaps will get to sing this with my long-time husband. Thanks so much for sharing this.

For the first time, I have come across a blog that I want to share with all of you. Hopefully you will understand why when you see my comments below, and you enjoy this video from 61 Musings as much as I did.

Many years ago, when I was 11 or so, I was an aspiring basement gymnast growing up in the suburbs of Rochester, NY. My friends and I (you know who you are) would play “When I’m 64” by the Beatles repeatedly and work on our routines. Although my gymnastic career never came to fruition, I became a lifelong Beatles fan. Today as I tread nearer to the age of 64 than 11, I realize that perhaps my husband and I will be able to sing this song to each other at our 40th anniversary, “when I’m 64”.

  3. My husband turned 64 in May – as we were eating our dinner I leaned over, took his hand, gave him a kiss & told him I still needed him now he was 64! At first he looked puzzled, then he smiled really big & chuckled!
