Here is my contribution to Share Your World for this week. (Scroll to the bottom for more info on SYW.)
List 2 things you have to be happy about.
What, only two???? I did much better this year at Qigong retreat than last year. It’s a validation that I’m growing, healing, gaining in every way. I’m happy that Cee is doing so well and that we can share our qi and the increasingly joyful adventure that is our life together.
List at least 2 things in nature do you find most beautiful.
Trees. Almost any kind of tree. I’d like to figure out how to photograph a tree well. It’s hard to capture the essence of a tree. Also anything green… grass, leaves, trees, shrubs and bushes. I like having a lot of green around me, but not manicured lawns. Those are quite artificial to me.
Show us a 2 of your favorites photographs. Explain why they are your favorite. If you are not a photographer (serious or otherwise), think of a two favorite scenes in your life and tell us about them.
I don’t have many of my photographs on my computer any more, so I’ll have to ask Cee to provide them for me. She’s the one with four hard drives and keeps all of our shots on them. I think my favorite was the one I took from on top of a hill showing the Yaquina Head lighthouse. I shot it with a wide angle lens and the vast panorama of the Pacific Ocean is framing the lighthouse. I took it on a rare sunny day. There are just a few puffy clouds in the sky, enough to give some depth to the picture. The other one I like is one that I shot of the Astoria Column in Astoria, Oregon.
List 2 of your best personality traits.
I’m a good listener. I’m intensely curious and am always asking questions or researching something. It keeps life interesting.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful for the new taiji (tai chi) form that we learned in qigong retreat. I think it will help me gain a lot of core strength that I’m needing.
I’m looking forward to catching up on housework (yeah, I know, hard to believe but we’ve been at retreat and things kind of got behind around here) and doing some cooking. We need some real food instead of just grabbing and running. The bad thing about being gone for so many days is that our kids (two pugs and two cats) are all demanding significant amounts of lap time and it’s too easy to just sit and pet the animals. It’s good meditation for us.
Share Your World info and link: Share Your World is a weekly challenge hosted by my spouse, Cee, at her photography blog. She started Share Your World years ago when she was running a number of challenges on a photography site similar to WordPress. The majority of photographers are introverts, and they needed a way to get to know each other. You don’t have to be a photographer to participate, though. Grab the questions and give us your answers.
Hi. I’m Chris. I’m an introvert. All of my postings tend to reflect my introvert world in some way or another. Join me and like minded introverts for a special slant on the world.
