Sharing My World – Week 36

amanda-clark-vilaga-spring-lightHere is my contribution to Share Your World for this week.  (Scroll to the bottom for more info on SYW.)

Do you prefer reading coffee table books (picture), biographies, fiction, non-fiction, educational?

When I want to relax, I ready cozy mysteries.  Cozy mysteries are those without sex and violence as their main selling feature.  When I’m not reading them, I read non-fiction:  biography, history, comparative religion and social psychology.  Current reads:  “Power of Two: Finding the Essence of Innovation in Creative Pairs” by Karen Armstrong’s biography of Buddha, and the “Nejing Suwen” (The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine).   Plus I just started a couple of new courses on edX.  Yes, I’m the egghead of the family.

What is your biggest fear or phobia? (no photos please)

What is your favorite cheese?

White cheddar aged at least twelve years.  Smoked provolone is good, too.

What is your favorite month of the year?

March, the start of spring.  Rebirth.  Freshness. Green.  Gentle spring rains.  Kite flying.  The first flowers appearing.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful that last week is over.  We had the contractors in pulling the forms off the concrete pad for the hot tub, the tub guys doing the install and the electrician doing the wiring for it.  Lots of disruption, corralling the dogs and cats, noise and strangers all over the place.  The introvert’s nightmare.  It was all worth it in the end.

Next week is all about winding down my old job and transitioning into my next one.  New relationships to create.  New ideas to champion.  I get to try out more of my introvert quiet influencing strengths.

Share Your World info and link:  Share Your World is a weekly challenge hosted by my spouse, Cee, at her photography blog. She started Share Your World years ago when she was running a number of challenges on a photography site similar to WordPress.  The majority of photographers are introverts, and they needed a way to get to know each other.  You don’t have to be a photographer to participate, though.  Grab the questions and give us your answers.

Hi.  I’m Chris.  I’m an introvert.  All of my postings tend to reflect my introvert world in some way or another.  Join me and like minded introverts for a special slant on the world.

  1. March must be very different where you are because it’s AWFUL in Toronto. A crazy, mixed-up month I dislike the most. I like the idea of yours a LOT better!

Good luck with your new job 🙂

    • When we lived in Denver, March was the snowiest month of the year. And I’ve been in Toronto in March, so I agree with you. I have fond memories of ice skating and roasted chestnuts from street vendors in the winter up there. I hope they still do that. It’s a beautiful city.
