I’ll get back to talking about the introvert life soon, I promise. For today, I want to show you an amazing video about a job I’d never want…. changing a light bulb 1500 Feet (457 meters) in the air. I love finding odd tidbits and whatnots. This qualifies.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the geography of the United States, the video was shot in South Dakota. Flat prairie land, going on forever. Farms, farms and more farms, as far as the eye can see. It’s an incredible view. Scroll down under the video for some trivia about the video.
The video is taken by a friendly drone operated from the ground by Prairie Aerial. For those of you who like trivia, the drone’s batteries only last fifteen minutes, and it took a minute and a half to make the flight to the top. The crew shot eight minutes of video, edited down to this two minute clip.
Kevin Schmidt is the climber. The bulb is used to warn passing aircraft of the presence of the communications tower. As for the selfie he takes at the end, he does it on every climb and sends it back to his wife, Alla.
This video has been watched more than 1.5 million times.
