Here is my contribution to Share Your World for this week. (Scroll to the bottom for more info on SYW.)
Where did you live at age five? Is it the same place or town you live now?
I lived in St. Marys, PA until my last year of high school. It’s a small town in the mountains of western Pennyslvania, started by Bavarian immigrants in 1842. It’s very much a Roman Catholic community, originally called S’ Maria Stadt (St. Mary’s City). The railroad brought in the Irish, but it’s still a very German town to this day.
It is not the same place I live now (Canby OR), although they are both the same size, fewer than 15,000 people.
You are invited to a party that will be attended by many fascinating people you never met. Would you attend this party if you were to go by yourself?
Hey, I’m an introvert. It would depend on the definitions of “many” and “fascinating”. Too many, and I don’t care how fascinating they are, I’d stay home. But a couple of fascinating people, I’d think about it.
Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?
Small town, and still do today. I have lived in a decent sized city (Denver, CO) and live close to the largest city in Oregon (Portland) but I prefer the country and small towns.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I honestly don’t remember. My favorite toys as a kid were a microscope, a printing press and American Bricks. I have always been a bit of a geek.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
We had a fun photo shoot in the fog at St Johns Bridge. It was nice to be out and wandering around. Usually the winters here are rainy so we are limited to drive by shootings. I’ll drive and Cee will hang out the car window. But it was a fun day or roaming the city streets.
I’m looking forward to my qigong classes starting back up on Saturday. Back to school, winter break is over!
Share Your World info and link: Share Your World is a weekly challenge hosted by my spouse, Cee, at her photography blog. She started Share Your World years ago when she was running a number of challenges on a photography site similar to WordPress. The majority of photographers are introverts, and they needed a way to get to know each other. You don’t have to be a photographer to participate, though. Grab the questions and give us your answers.
Hi. I’m Chris. I’m an introvert. All of my postings tend to reflect my introvert world in some way or another. Join me and like minded introverts for a special slant on the world.
